Community fundraising: local walks

WALKS BOOK

We’re continuing to promote our “Walks around Caterham” fundraising booklet, written by foodbank volunteer (and former local postman) David Bryan – pictured below. It includes full information and supporting detail for ten guided walks in the area – from Netherne across to Woldingham. Copies are available for a requested minimum donation of £6 each, from:

+ Cafe 181 at Oakhall Church, Chaldon Road, CR3 5PL

+ The Lost Sheep, 221 Croydon Road, CR3 6PH

+ East Surrey Museum, Stafford Road, Caterham valley (near the train station)

All proceeds from sales of the book go to Caterham Foodbank.

GUIDED WALKS

David was able to lead three guided walks this summer and autumn, on routes taken from his book at Happy Valley (pictured below), Woldingham and Chaldon. A good time was had by all on each occasion, with fine weather and refreshments afterwards at Cafe 181 and The Lost Sheep as relevant to the location. The three walks together raised over £300 for the Foodbank – thank you to all who attended and contributed.

We expect to be back for more such walks in the spring – watch this space!
