Announcing our updated logo and new working name

From 28 February 2025 we are updating our logo and branding, and changing to our new working name of “Caterham & District Foodbank”. These changes will be introduced through March, including in our external signage and social media.

All of our contact information, opening times and places, access to our systems and other operational details remain unchanged. The formal name and basis of our registration and identity as an independent local charity is also unchanged.

Our Trustees have agreed the updated branding and change of working name at this time, for two main reasons:

• since our foundation in 2013, we have been part of the national network of Trussell Trust foodbanks. Trussell updated their own branding last autumn, to emphasise that we are all working together to end hunger in the UK. All foodbanks within the Trussell network have been encouraged to adopt parallel changes at an appropriate time, which for us is now (between the traditionally busy Christmas and Easter periods).

• For some years, we’ve recognised that the geographic scope of our Foodbank has spread beyond Caterham – covering all the communities across northern Tandridge District. Our Trustees therefore decided to use the opportunity of updating our logo and branding to incorporate a new working name that better reflects the area we cover: Caterham & District. Our legal basis and operational details remain the same as previously, but being known as Caterham & District Foodbank gives recognition both to the support we receive from across the area, and also to those individuals and families we are able to help from all our local communities.

The costs of the change are minimal, with many of our external signs subject to replacement anyway through normal wear and tear. Incorporating the new logo and working name at this time has allowed us to maximise cost effectiveness by updating and renewing our key equipment at the same time.
